When will you get your certificate?
Once you have successfully completed your course, you will receive the certificate within 2 days.
At what age can you complete the RSA & RSG course?
You can complete the courses at any age. You can’t supply alcohol, or be on the Gaming floor of a Gambling Venue until you are eighteen, unless you are on an approved training program. The certificate lasts forever providing you do a free online refresher course every three years.
At what age can you complete the Food Handling course?
You can complete the courses at any age.
How long are our courses?
The duration of the RSA course in Victoria is set by the State Government and is the same for all training organisations. The RSA course takes approx 4hrs to complete, including breaks. The duration of the RSG and Food Handling course is 2hrs.
Can you combine the RSA, RSG, and Food Handling courses back to back?
Yes you can combine two courses together. For example, RSA/Food Handling on a Wednesday or Sunday, then come back on Saturday or Tuesday for the RSG or RSA/RSG on a Saturday or Tuesday then come back on Wednesday or Sunday for the Food Handling. We have breaks throughout the course so you are not sitting at a desk for the whole six hours.
Are our certificates nationally recognised?
Yes you will receive a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment, SITHGAM001 Provide Responsible Gambling Services and a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment, SITXFSA001 Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety at the completion of the course. We can also provide a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment, SITHFAB002 Provide responsible service of alcohol that can be used Australia wide, apart from NSW. *Please note that all employees working in a Victorian Gaming Venue must complete a free online quiz at the Victorian Department of Justice website.
Are we accredited?
Our RSA, RSG, and Food Handling Courses are fully accredited with The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) Courses are delivered through Edway Training and Industry Training Services. Both are Registered Training Organisations.
Do gaming employees need a gaming licence?
In most cases you no longer need the Gaming Industry Employees Licence. To find out who still needs the licence click here
Can we come to you and facilitate training?
Onsite RSA, RSG, and Food Handling Courses can all be delivered any day or evening at your chosen site. All trainers have a current Working With Children Check. You need a minimum of ten participants.
Parking is available very cheap at the Queen Vic Market 2 mins walk from our Melb CBD location. Alternatively the multi-storey carparks behind our building have $6.50 parking all day on a Saturday and Sunday, and after 4.30pm weekdays. Parking is available free surrounding our St Kilda location. Parking is available in Geelong opposite Deakin University at Cunningham Pier.
Our Melb CBD location is a five minute walk from Melbourne Central train station and a short walk from Flagstaff Station. Trams can drop you off at Elizabeth Street, a one minute walk from our building.
What happens if you miss your scheduled class?
We allow you to attend another class, however we will only consider requests that are in writing and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org A $20 rebooking fee for each missed class will apply.
We can issue a refund if we have 48 hrs notice from the date of your booking. All Requests must be in writing and emailed to email@example.com A $10 processing fee for each class will apply.
Changing your booking date
48 hours notice = Can book into another course free of charge.
24 hours notice = Can book into another course and pay a $20 rebooking fee.
Less than 24 hours notice = Can book into another course and pay a $30 rebooking fee.
